Design Lead

What we would like from you As Design Lead, you will be responsible for encouraging innovative approaches while guiding clients and a multi-disciplinary team through the product development life-cycle; from identifying new opportunities and crafting product propositions, through to prototyping, testing and release.

\ Day-to-day, depending on scope and scale of the project you will be responsible for:

Guiding Research and Strategy

  • Drafting design briefs that outline design iterations, prioritized concepts and timelines
  • Define ethnographic research and contextual design investigations to understand customer behaviors, pain points, needs and aspirations
  • Identify insights from customer research and market analysis
  • Design and facilitate stakeholder workshops to ensure alignment / agreement on vision
  • Lead product definition, roadmap and scope
  • Keep our clients on course with both theoretical and practical product strategy advice
  • Continually, clearly, communicating the product vision for the team and our client

Collaborative design and development

  • Lead Signal Noise Information, Interaction and UI designers to:
    • Conduct primary and secondary research
    • Communicate design ideas through service models, customer journey maps, and prototypes
    • Iteratively design, test and refine disruptive products and services
  • Coordinating with Signal Nose project managers and technical leads to ensure the integrity of design execution and timely delivery to clients

\ Background / technical skills

  • 8+ year experience, ideally having worked in a variety of contexts (in-house, startup, agency)
  • A proven track record designing digital products and services across mobile, web, desktop and beyond
  • A portfolio that demonstrates:
    • a strategic outlook with regard to a product’s current and future vision
    • clear thinking and novel solutions that address business value and end-user needs.
  • BA or Masters Degree in a relevant field (Interaction Design, Product / Industrial Design, Graphic Design, Data Journalism) or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience working in lean \ agile environments but agnostic to approach

  • Adobe CC Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, XD)
